Monster Fish

I love Halloween, but instead of a traditional lesson of trick or treators or monsters, 2nd grade created monster fish.  We began by folding our papers with a double trifold so that the paper started small and opened up big.  The in crayon we drew our nice fish on the outside and they open up into monsterfish on the inside.  We created fun and crazy things for our monsterfish to eat and worked hard to color hard with wax.  Our last step of this project was an inked batik style wash, to fill in the whites.  What makes these projects cool is seeing studens open them up to revel to monster fish inside, so the images attached here are all gifs so that you can see the nice and the monster fish.
